Edward Vu
Insurance Specialist and Client-Service Advisor
Growing up in Walla Walla, I learned early on what it means to be part of a community where people genuinely look out for one another. That small-town value of caring for your neighbors has shaped how I approach my work today. Family has always been my foundation. My parents and younger brother push me to keep growing, and they remind me why this work matters.
I came from a family of real estate and securities investors, so financial conversations were part of our dinner table growing up. I saw firsthand how thoughtful planning could change someone's trajectory. But my path to this profession took an unexpected turn during my senior year at Whitworth University, where I was studying Health Science and preparing for physical therapy school. Two advisors visited my capstone class to talk about financial planning for graduate students. What struck me wasn't just their message, but how they connected with us. They were personable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping people navigate complex decisions. I reached out for coffee afterward, and that conversation opened doors to firms around Spokane. I realized I could combine my desire to help people with work that creates tangible, lasting impact.
Now, as an Insurance Specialist and Registered Insurance Broker for Life, Health, and Disability in Washington State, I get to meet with clients every day and hear their stories. What keeps me motivated is simple: the people. Whether someone is just starting to think about protection strategies or managing a complex financial picture, I approach each conversation with the same care. I take a detailed, needs-based approach rather than working off estimates or sales targets.
My focus is always on what serves the client's best interests and fits realistically into their lives.
I currently specialize in insurance planning, but I'm working toward my Series 65 to become dual-licensed. My goal is to offer guidance across both insurance and investments so I can serve clients in a more comprehensive way.
Living in North Spokane gives me the best of both worlds. I'm close enough to the energy of a growing city, but still connected to that countryside feel I grew up with. When I'm not working, you'll find me fishing, lifting weights, cooking, hiking, playing basketball, or unwinding with video games. Life moves fast, but those moments help me stay grounded and ready to show up for the people who trust me with their planning.
